Deciding to go to Japan in 2012, after the awful Tohoku earthquake of March 2011, was a big decision.
When we are in Tokyo (& Kyoto) we will meet up with our friend Shakti who will show us some of the sights including Nippori where there are many haberdashery shops; an opportunity to shop for material dressmaking and costumes, Sue and I discussed these travel arrangements when we were at Shakti's house in the Adelaide Hills.
We decided to stay in the old part of Tokyo called Asakusa (Ryokan Asakusa Mitawaya Honten) near the Senso-ji and the shopping street called Nakamise-dori,Thunder gate leading to Senso-ji which leads from the Thunder gate to the temple.
